On This Day in 2005, Genya Ravan played to a packed club. In addition to fronting the bands: The Escorts, Goldie and the Gingerbreads and Ten Wheel Drive, Genya produced The Dead Boys and Ronnie Spector, and hosts a monthly radio show at Steve Van Zandt’s Underground Garage. Genya will be performing on June 30 at The Bitter End in NYC. Don’t miss it!

Goldie and The Gingerbreads

On this day in 1965, The Kinks began their first headlining UK tour, supported by the Yardbirds and Goldie and the Gingerbreads.  Goldie, aka Genya Ravan, is also known for producing the Dead Boys, Young, Loud and Snotty and Ronnie Spector’s Siren. In 2004, Ravan’s book, Lollipop Lounge: memoirs of a rock and roll refugee was published. You can now hear Genya Ravan as one of Steven Van Zandt’s hosts on his Underground Garage on Sirius Satellite Radio.
