Lenny is the consummate musician and commentator, he was at CBGB virtually from day one,. He knew Hilly well, and we’re sure Hilly wouldn’t mind that Lenny spelled his last name incorrectly. Here is Lenny’s remembrance.

Monday, March 1st, 2010On this day in 1980, Patti Smith married Fred “Sonic” Smith. The couple had two kids, Jackson and Jesse. They both shared a love for poetry. Fred Smith was a highly credited guitarist who played in MC5. Unfortunately, Mr. Smith passed away in 1994 due to a heart attack. Patti Smith included a tribute to Fred on her 1996 album, Gone Again. In honor of the couple, we included a video of the two performing, People Have the Power.
