On this day in 1977, The Clash released their first single, White Riot. The single was released through CBS Recordings. They did not allow the band’s debut album or single to be released in the U.S. until 1979. The song has been covered by CBGB alum’s Camper van Beethoven and Sham 69. On This Day/Sid Vicious Joins the Sex Pistols
Monday, February 15th, 2010On this day in 1977, Sid Vicious joins the Sex Pistols. He was asked to replace Glen Matlock, because he showed up to more shows. Sex Pistols’ manager, Malcom McLaren, felt Sid Vicious had the perfect attitude for a punk band. Never Mind the Bollocks Here’s the Sex Pistols, was the first album that featured Sid Vicious.
