Suicide is Alan Vega and Martin Rev.  Alan Vega chose the band name based on his favorite comic book Satan Suicide. Suicide is grouped as one of the early punk bands from New York City.  Their albums are considered classics and their live performances are unforgettable to their fans.  They didn’t dress to impress.  They followed their own rules.  Alan Vega is known for wearing motorcycle drive chains.  Suicide’s audience would boo them and stir up trouble, one show ended up with a riot breaking out.  While Suicide is still active, each member has released his own solo album on the side.

Although never the commercial success Suicides peers expected, when Bruce Springsteen covered the Suicide track, Dream Baby Dream, Alan Vega felt he’d finally arrived.
