The Shirts formed in 1975, in Brooklyn, NY. The seven piece band convinced Hilly to let them have an opening spot. Soon they were regular headliners, managed by Hilly and signed by EMI. They had huge European success touring as support for Peter Gabriel. Their stateside success was not as notable; however, lead singer, Annie Golden was discovered by director Milos Foreman and cast in many feature films including Hair and 12 Monkeys. The Shirts continue to play together and pursue solo projects. Their last album Only the Head Know Brooklyn was released in 2006.
