Mink DeVille was considered the unofficial CBGB house band from 75-77 despite its R&B and Funk roots. Although their music was considered romantic and softer than other bands that played the club, their live performance was raw, tough, and full of energy. Three of their songs were featured on the 1976 ‘Live at CBGB’s’ double album compilation released by Atlantic Records – featuring Talking Heads on the cover; that LP was never released on CD .
