Living Colour

Living Colour formed in 1983, and hail from New York City. Their music is a collaboration of heavy metal, funk, hard rock, hardcore punk, and hip hop. Vernon Reid started the band and the classic lineup was formed in 1986, which included Corey Glover, Muzz Skillings, and Will Calhoun. The constant touring which included frequent CBGB gigs and a demo produced by Mick Jagger got them signed to Epic Records. While Living Colour is well-known for their single Cult of Personality, some of their biggest accomplishments came in 1989, and include winning a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance and Best New Artist at MTV’s Music Video Awards. Living Colour released two live at CB’s albums – Live at CBGBs – Tuesday, 12/19/89, and the Living Colour performance at the SAVE CBGB Benefit Show in August 2005.
