John Cale, along with Lou Reed founded the band, The Velvet Underground. Cale left the band in 1968, and pursued a solo career. He has since released over 30 albums. He began his career by producing records for Nico and The Stooges. In 1972, Reprise Records signed him as a performing artist and producer where he produced albums for Jennifer Warnes. In 1974, he moved to Island and produced records for Squeeze, Patti Smith, and Sham 69. John Cale, recorded a 1979 performance at CBGB and released it as the album Sabotage/Live. This record would be known as Cale’s first album to showcase his punk rock influence.
