On This Day Day in 1994/ Anthrax

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

On this day in 1994, Anthrax played a sold out show. Even though CB’s 20th Anniversary Celebration was in December, Anthrax’s January performance was a sanctioned “Anniversary gig,” due to their tour schedule.  It was filmed and recorded.   Here is clip of the band visiting the Bundy’s from “Married With Children” originally released on February 23, 1990.  The band performs ‘In My World’ off their 1990 Persistence of Time album.

BTW — the CB’s 20th Anniversary, a month long-event, featured Helmet, the B52s, Joan Jett, David Byrne, They Might Be Giants, The Damned, and many others.  The shows were filmed and recorded, but the tapes sit in the Warner vaults.  One day we hope to convince the gatekeepers to help us release this event from darkness; not surprising — its all about money.

Today Tommy writes, produces and performs in Uncle Monk, a bluegrass duo. Here’s ’I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend,’ one of Tommy’s songs. You can hear more Ramones at CBGB Radio.

.

Eleven years after the release of The Sex Pistols “Never Mind The Bollocks, Here’s The Sex Pistols,” it finally goes Gold in the US with sales of over 500,000.

By the way, contrary to popular belief, The Sex Pistols never played CBGB, but Sid did hang out there.

Here’s “God Save The Queen.”
